Mar 16, 2026 at 10:28 AMMirk Gladiator, authorized signatory at DAKOSY, will retire on April 1, 2026, after nearly 40 years with the company. Since 1987, he has led various departments, most recently the Port Communication Services (PCS) department. Among his significant achievements is the founding of the joint venture allivate in Frankfurt, where he served as managing director.
Long-standing Experience in IT Development
Gladiator’s career at DAKOSY began in 1985 as a working student. After studying industrial engineering, he took over the management of various IT projects in the Port of Hamburg in 1989. Under his responsibility, the hazardous goods information system GEGIS was developed, which DAKOSY still operates on behalf of the City of Hamburg. After a brief interlude at DB-Systems, the IT service provider of Deutsche Bahn, he returned to DAKOSY in 2004 and took over the management of the PCS department.
In this role, Gladiator was instrumental in the development and implementation of import and export management platforms for the Port of Hamburg. Starting in 2010, he initiated the establishment of an Air Cargo Community System in collaboration with the community at Frankfurt Airport, known as FAIR@Link, which today plays a central role in air freight handling at the airports of Frankfurt and Hamburg.
Succession Planning and Outlook
To secure the future of FAIR@Link, DAKOSY and Fraport founded the joint venture allivate in 2024, where Gladiator served as one of the managing directors. As of January 1, 2026, he handed over this position to Matthias Hupka and also transferred the leadership of the PCS department to his deputy Malte Kantak. Additionally, a new department, ACS (Aircargo Communication Services), was established at the turn of the year, which is led by Ronny Anten.
Gladiator expressed satisfaction with the succession planning and emphasized that challenges in the industry will continue to increase. „The depth of processes and the number of subprocesses that we integrate into our systems are continuously growing. At the same time, the geographical reach of our platforms is expanding due to the increasing involvement of supply chain participants beyond the ports or airports,“ said Gladiator.
