LKW.APP with new booking feature for TRAVIS parking spaces
Mar 10, 2026 at 11:31 AMThe logistics services provider Cargo-partner is advancing the decarbonisation of its transport chains. To this end the company, in collaboration with its partner H. Wenzl Handel Transport Logistik, has put two fully-electric Mercedes-Benz eActros 300 lorries into operation for local transport around Vienna airport.
The vehicles operate in a radius of approximately 90 km between the hub at Vienna airport and destinations such as St. Pölten or downtown Vienna. With a range of about 250-300 km, they are suitable for regional routes. As early as 2024, Cargo-partner tested the eActros in a pilot phase, conducting emissions-free transport in urban areas.
A key requirement for deployment was the establishment of a powerful charging infrastructure at Cargo-partner’s Fischamend location, which is fully powered by green electricity. According to the company, the greatest challenge wasn’t the vehicles themselves, but rather the expansion of the power connection and the necessary grid infrastructure.
The electric trucks are used in the pre- and post-haulage of warehousing, air and sea freight operations. Cargo-partner views the project as an investment in future transport solutions and is gathering practical experience for further electrification of logistics.
