Mar 6, 2026 at 8:51 AMPALFINGER has been awarded the contract to equip the offshore wind farm „Formosa 4“ in Taiwan with service cranes. This marks the company’s eleventh project in Taiwan and the ninth wind farm to be equipped with PALFINGER cranes. With this step, the company aims to strengthen its activities in East Asia and solidify its role as a partner in the growing regional offshore wind sector.
As part of the contract with Synera Renewables Taiwan (SRE), PALFINGER will deliver 35 electric service cranes of the type „PF 200,“ each with a reach of seven meters. These crane systems will be installed on jacket foundations with 14 MW turbines from Siemens Energy. Alexander Lee, Regional Sales Director APAC at PALFINGER, emphasizes the advantages of the modular design, which offers high corrosion resistance and enables easy maintenance. This leads to minimized shipping times, reduces operational risk, and accelerates the project timeline.
Taiwan aims to intensify the use of renewable energy and is increasingly investing in wind energy projects, as reported by PALFINGER. The offshore wind farm „Formosa 4,“ located 18 to 20 kilometers off the coast of Miaoli County, covers an area of 58 km².
