The distribution center of SSI Schäfer for Coop in Eskilstuna, Sweden, has recently received several awards. The highly automated facility was honored with both the „Best of Industry Award“ in the category of „Sustainability“ and the „reta Award“ in the category of „Supply Chain Excellence.“ These accolades highlight the efficiency and environmentally friendly aspects of the intralogistics solution, as the company reports.

The distribution center, realized by SSI Schäfer as the general contractor, automates approximately 95% of the picking processes and optimizes the entire material flow from goods receipt to shipping, according to the company. The „Best of Industry Award“ is awarded annually to industrial projects that stand out for efficiency improvements and technological innovations, among other criteria. This year, around 25,000 votes were cast across 19 categories, with SSI Schäfer reportedly standing out particularly in the category of „Sustainability.“
