LOGISTICS & AUTOMATION 2026 successful
Jan 30, 2026 at 2:59 PMSchmitz Cargobull expands its offering in the dry freight sector with the S.BO MULTI. The newly developed semi-trailer is designed for a variety of transport tasks and is suitable for different types of cargo, including palletized goods, general cargo, hanging garments, vehicle parts, as well as bulky or loose items. The S.BO MULTI is particularly used in logistics centers, production sites, and industrial applications, where frequently changing requirements for cargo and load securing exist.
Innovative double-deck system for higher utilization
A central feature of the S.BO MULTI is the integrated double-deck system, which allows for flexible and precise load securing through keyhole plates. The aluminum double-deck rails are 2,050 mm long and have a spacing of 1,200 mm, enabling the transport of up to 33 additional Euro pallets. The keyhole plates support various securing systems such as load bars, clothing rods, tension straps, or nets, ensuring high flexibility in load securing.
The side walls of the trailer consist of a stable two-shell steel construction with reinforced columns. One type of column supports the double-deck rails, while the other is responsible for mounting the galvanized keyhole plates, which create additional securing points. The galvanization increases corrosion resistance and reduces wear and repair needs. Additionally, the keyholes are reinforced with a curvature to ensure high load-bearing capacity even under intensive use.
Modular design and certification
The S.BO MULTI is part of Schmitz Cargobull’s modular dry freight system and utilizes proven components from the S.BO EXPRESS. These include an end wall made of aluminum planks, an insulated roof, and continuous steel connection profiles that connect all structural components. For the rear, aluminum doors or optionally an aluminum roller shutter are available. The structure can be supplemented with various options such as double-deck rails type B or aluminum scuff strips.
The structure of the S.BO MULTI is certified according to DIN EN 12642 Code XL, allowing for a payload of up to 27,000 kg. The chassis is modular, bolted, and galvanized, designed for standard transport requirements. For more demanding applications, the heavy-duty chassis X-THOUGH is available as an option. Additionally, the TrailerConnect® telematics system is integrated as standard to ensure transparent representation of trailer data.
Economy and sustainability in service
The S.BO MULTI is also designed for economy in service. Repairs can be carried out with common tools as well as adhesive and riveting techniques, contributing to short downtimes and low maintenance costs. Furthermore, the use of adhesive and folding methods instead of conventional welding techniques reduces energy consumption in production, contributing to lower CO₂ emissions.
Overall, the S.BO MULTI offers a flexible and durable solution for demanding dry freight applications that meet the requirements of modern logistics.
