To meet the increasing demands in retail and e-commerce, the company is planning a new logistics center in Kozomín near Prague in collaboration with SSI Schäfer. This project aims to enhance the efficiency of warehouse processes and optimize order fulfillment.
New Logistics Center for Increasing Demand
The decision for a new, semi-automated warehouse was made in light of the continuous growth in the e-commerce sector and the associated rising demand. Tomáš Pimpara, Head of Logistics at ROSSMANN Czech Republic, emphasizes the need for a system that can efficiently manage the wide range of products. “We are growing rapidly and want to implement the new logistics solution as soon as possible,” Pimpara explains. The experiences from Hungary, where a similar solution has already been successfully implemented, reinforce the partners in their endeavor.
The logistics center will be designed as an omnichannel solution to serve both the Czech branches and the customers of the online shop. SSI Schäfer will act as the general contractor for this project, leveraging its local presence in the Czech Republic to adhere to the tight schedule.
Technological Integration for Efficient Processes
The planned warehouse in Kozomín will combine various technologies to ensure flexible and reliable order processing. At the center is a three-story pick tower equipped with shelving and flow racks. Items will be picked at Pick by Light stations, allowing for short distances and intuitive user guidance. After picking, branch orders will be transported to the shipping area via conveyor technology. E-commerce orders will be repackaged at ergonomic workstations before being sent for shipping as well.
Markus Malli, Sales Healthcare & Cosmetics at SSI Schäfer, highlights that the semi-automated solution will help ROSSMANN ensure customer satisfaction both in the online shop and in the branches.
The installation of the logistics solution is planned for January 2026, with a go-live in October 2026. Both partners are confident that the experienced project team and the proven logistics concept will secure the successful implementation of the project and the future growth of ROSSMANN in the Czech Republic.
