During this time, he has significantly shaped and strategically developed the company. Under his leadership, the container terminal was able to expand its role as an important logistics location in Dortmund.
Michael Kirschner takes over management
Starting January 1, 2026, Michael Kirschner will take over the management of Container Terminal Dortmund GmbH. Kirschner brings 30 years of experience in the field of container terminals and combined transport. His extensive industry knowledge and leadership experience are expected to contribute to the further development of the company. “I am very much looking forward to the new role and to positioning Container Terminal Dortmund GmbH together with the great and experienced employees to meet the challenges of the future,” said Kirschner.
Bettina Brennenstuhl, board member of Dortmunder Hafen AG and chairwoman of the advisory board of Container Terminal Dortmund GmbH, praised Schütte’s commitment and the strategic decisions made in recent years. She emphasized Kirschner’s importance as an industry expert and the planned steps for the further development of the terminals. “With him, we will drive the development of our terminals forward, making them more digital and even more competitive, thereby strengthening the logistics location of Dortmund,” said Brennenstuhl.
Container Terminal Dortmund GmbH operates two terminals in the Dortmund port on a total area of 145,000 m² and employs around 70 staff.
