Marotech, the Load Securing Specialist, Celebrates 30 Years

The Marotech GmbH, based in Fulda and specializing in load securing, flooring, and fall protection, is celebrating its 30th anniversary. Founded on January 31, 1995, the family-owned company now delivers its products and tailored solutions across Europe to customers in the industrial, logistics, construction, sports, and leisure sectors, as well as to public institutions. The wide range of products mainly comes from in-house production.

(Fulda) “Today we look back on 30 dynamic years, during which we have developed not only many innovations in the Marotech range but also the 3G Competence Center for Load Securing and the 3G Conference Hotel here in Fulda,” summarizes Marotech Managing Director Steffen Uth.

Among the main products and growth drivers in the early years were the self-developed anti-slip mats, known for their robustness and high friction coefficient. Even the standard quality had a friction coefficient of 0.7µ. In 2001, the company set a milestone with an anti-slip mat that had a friction value of 0.9µ. With this philosophy, Marotech became one of the largest German manufacturers of anti-slip mats. The rapid growth soon required the purchase of the company premises on Heinkelstraße in Fulda. Since 2003, the company has been located there.

Award for “Best Product” at LogiMAT 2006

Another product highlight was awarded the prestigious “Best Product” prize at the LogiMAT trade fair three years later. An independent jury of logistics experts, professors, and trade journalists honored the anti-slip mat “MT Supergrip,” specially developed by Marotech for heavy loads. This mat significantly contributes to safety in road transport due to its exceptionally high friction coefficient. In the following years, Marotech developed a series of further innovations in the MT Secure and MT Pro product lines.

In 2008, Marotech initiated the online network LasiPortal, where all important information, consultants, training dates, and institutions related to load securing can be accessed easily, quickly, and clearly on the internet. The LasiPortal features consultants, experts, authorities with contact persons, specialized lawyers, penalty catalogs, and checklists for load securing.

3G European Competence Center for Load Securing

In 2010, the groundbreaking ceremony for the 3G European Competence Center for Load Securing took place, which was ceremoniously opened on the company premises on Heinkelstraße in April 2012. 3G symbolically represents the central acceleration or deceleration force in load securing and the three areas of training, development, and testing.

The “3G European Competence Center for Load Securing” offers over 2,000 square meters of space for training, research and development, as well as testing facilities related to load securing on five levels. In 2014, the building was expanded with a 600 sqm ASIA-ZEN garden, emphasizing the character of the 3G as a unique conference and training facility in Europe.

Bio-Anti-Slip Mat Made from Renewable Raw Materials

In the same year, Marotech presented the bio-anti-slip mat. The anti-slip mats, produced 100 percent from renewable raw materials, are biodegradable and can be easily disposed of and recycled worldwide. The products offer users economic advantages and possibilities for surface design and shaping. The bio-anti-slip mats can be printed and labeled.

3G Conference Hotel and Succession Planning

In 2017, Marotech celebrated the opening of the 3G Conference Hotel, located in close proximity to the 3G at Werner-von-Siemens-Straße 12-14. The hotel has established itself as a conference and event center as well as a business hotel with a Feng Shui feel-good atmosphere in the heart of Germany. With state-of-the-art comfort amenities, it caters to business travelers, 3G conference guests, or private individuals.

A year later, Steffen Uth was appointed to the management of Marotech GmbH. His father and company founder Winfried Uth had gradually withdrawn from day-to-day operations. To this day, he remains active in the 3G area and provides advisory support to the company.
